Sparkling Tiara Royal Appearances: Join Us at Platinum Dance Studio’s Golf Tournament

St. Paddy’s is over, but locals are still thinking green in preparation for the Platinum Dance Studio Golf Fundraiser. The Sparkling Tiara family is counting down to a very special tee time this Friday, March 22nd at Windtree Golf Course to help Platinum Dance Studio raise funds for the 2013 National Dance Competition in Panama City.

Come out and feel the sun on your face, the wind in your hair, and the Sparkle at the 9th hole!  Look for our signature pink tent, flashy smiles, refreshing bottled water, and delicious pink treats all provided by our charming princesses and divas. Lunch and registration begin at 12pm, and tee time is at 1:30pm. All golfers are invited to participate in this event. The $75 registration fee includes lunch and a gift bag for each golfer. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes as well as multiple contests – including the chance to win $1000 for a hole in one. If you want to offer support, but don’t wish to compete in the golf tournament – Platinum Dance is also happily accepting donations.

Even if you’re not a golfer, you’re welcome to join us and view the festivities. Don’t miss this chance to support a great local business that’s always geared towards helping students put their best foot forward with high kicks, spins, jumps, pliés and more! Our friends at Platinum provide students with the opportunity to express themselves through dance while enjoying the benefits of a supportive, uplifting environment.

Platinum’s dedication to high standards and positive experiences is apparent in their extensive list of accomplishments. Now it’s time for the community to support Platinum Dance on the road to 2013 Nationals. Sparkling Tiara is wholeheartedly supporting this effort because, like Platinum Dance Studio, we believe in the long lasting impact of constructive extra-curricular activities for students. We’re proud that youth in our community have made a long term commitment to hone their talents, work together, and achieve the goal of competing at a National Competition.

We can’t wait to add some of our signature sparkle to a day of fun and – hopefully – holes in one! Don’t forget to stop by the 9th hole, say hello, and grab some refreshments and a brochure about our princess, diva, and queen parties.

Tis the season for good deeds and grateful hearts, family gatherings, and community events!  Sparkling Tiara has never been happier to be a part of the Mount Juliet community. This month, we find ourselves serving more customers in more ways (in store and online) and relishing opportunities to bond with our friends and neighbors.

One of our favorite community gatherings is the annual Mount Juliet Christmas Parade.  This year’s theme is “Starry Nights and Christmas Lights,” and we plan to bring out the Sparkle! Come out at 6pm this Saturday, December 8th, to watch the parade and help celebrate Mount Juliet’s 40th year.

The parade route is along Mount Juliet Road: the start point is First Baptist Church and the end point is Charlie Daniels Parkway. Dance and sing along as marching bands play your favorite Christmas tunes. Hang out with Santa and his special helpers. And don’t forget to look out for the Sparkling Tiara family! We’ll be strutting our stuff down the parade route, and sharing sparkling smiles and holiday merriment with everyone we meet. Don’t worry, you won’t miss us: just think pink! We’ll be decked out in our usual regal splendor.

Bundle up, gather your friends and family, and stake your claim to a prime viewing spot along the parade route. Don’t forget to let your little princesses don their tutus, wands, and wings – we’d be delighted to see some royalty amongst the crowds. We’re looking forward to the opportunity to take a break and share some Christmas cheer with you, our Mount Juliet friends and neighbors. So join us for this cherished community tradition, and ring in the holiday season with an unforgettable Christmas parade.

Sparkle Lots with Toys for Tots!

The holidays are approaching fast, and Sparkling Tiara is pleased to kick off a second year of participation in the USMC Toys for Tots program. Last year we were inspired and encouraged by the members of our community who generously donated toys for distribution to less fortunate children in our area. We’re happy to resume our post as a local collection point for the Toys for Tots program in Mount Juliet. If you’d like to make a donation, stop in during our business hours (Mon. – Thurs 10am – 7pm, Fri. – Sat. 9am – 7pm) and put a toy in the Toys for Tots box. As always, we’ll look forward to visiting with you.

The USMC Toys for Tots program has been wildly successful since its inaugural campaign in 1947. That first year, 5,000 needy children in the Los Angeles area received toys that were collected and distributed by a group of Marine Reservists under the direction of Bill Hendricks.  The next year, Toys for Tots became nationwide. The program has grown to include all 50 states, DC, and Puerto Rico. The mission of Toys for Tots has always been the same: to help community members, local business leaders, and local community welfare agencies to collect toys and distribute them to needy children during Christmas time. The goal is, according to the official Toys for Tots website, to “deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.” For more information about the Toys for Tots program, visit their website.

Relay for Life

There’s plenty of action for the Pink Ladies of Sparkling Tiara this week as they prepare to participate in Relay for Life on May 11th at Charlie Daniels Park. Sparkling Tiara places community involvement as a top priority because we love our friends, families, neighbors, and customers. This fundraising event is particularly important for us as we honor the members of our community who have struggled with cancer. We hope you join us for a day of remembrance, education about cancer screening, celebration of survivors, and community fellowship.

According to the official website, Relay for Life began in the mid-80s with the effort of colorectal surgeon Dr. Gordy Klatt. In 1985, Klatt spent 24 hours walking or running around a track: his efforts culminated in his running a spectacular 83 miles and, together with his community, raising $27,000 for his local Tacoma ACS office. Since that time Relay for Life has grown into a meaningful event for communities across America to collaborate and support screening and research for all types of cancer. The 12 hour event includes a survivors lap, a caregivers lap, a memorial lap, a luminaria ceremony, great food, and fundraising activities.

Mount Juliet’s own Relay for Life 2012 is sure to be an incredible occasion. 19 teams of 187 participants are signed up to join in the relay. Sparkling Tiara won’t be hard to find: just think pink! The winners of last year’s “best campsite” award are at it again with their favorite theme color. We’ve spent last weekend working on the campsite and getting everything ready for our visitors. Come by and check out a paradise of pink! We’ll have pink popcorn, cotton candy, sweets, and home-made baked goods for sale (yes – all pink!). All of the Sparkling Tiara Pink Ladies will contribute delicious, charmingly decorated treats. In the spirit of serving our community 100%: we’ll donate all of the proceeds to the cause. Just look for the ladies in the pretty pink t-shirts!  We look forward to seeing you there!

Pink Ladies: Sparkling Tiara’s Shining Staff Serves Their Community, Families, and You!

Who are those ladies who greet you with a smile every time you come in for a visit? The ladies who keep the store clean and stocked with the coolest items around? The ladies who keep your queens and princesses happy with the best royal treatment at the fanciest parties in town? The ladies who excel in school and make our community a better place to be? The Pink Ladies, of course!

The Pink Ladies are the staff here at Sparkling Tiara, and this month we’d like to spotlight these special women as a team. They are a unique group of students and cherished professionals who all show remarkable initiative, interest in business, and have personalities which shine in store and out. Kathy Brown, or “Sparkling Sissy,” is a mentor and role model for the younger employees. Her sparkling smile and bubbly personality make her a top salesperson. She has a warm spirit and sets a fantastic example for the other Pink Ladies. “Sparkling Sissy” is retired from Bank of America, where she worked for 30 years. Now, she works at Sparkling Tiara during the week. Sissy, along with the other Pink Ladies, is also active in the Wilson County community.

Community involvement is a regular activity for all of the Pink Ladies. Last year, the Sparkling Tiara Pink Ladies participated in Relay for Life, during which the girls won an award for the best campsite. The Pink Ladies are looking forward to participating again this year. The Pink Ladies have also helped run a spring fashion show at Charlie Daniels Park. The fashion show was a great way to add some sparkle to an exciting day of dress up fun for princesses, divas, and queens of all ages. Summer stays busy with the 4th of July celebrations, and the August princess breakfast party at Chick-fil-A. In the fall the Sparkling staff takes part in the Halloween festivities at Charlie Daniels Park. The Pink Ladies also donate time and resources to several causes such as Toys for Tots and Susan G Komen for the Cure. The Pink Ladies’ community involvement extends beyond activities with Sparkling Tiara and into participation in their schools’ volunteer programs, as well. It’s our mission to add sparkle everywhere we can, and we’re happy to grow a business in such a wonderful and thriving community!

Our Pink Ladies know that family matters. These women put their parents and siblings first. It’s obvious that each Pink Lady adores children and values the impact that positive role models can have on a growing girl. In addition to family matters – grades are tops! Those who are students are a part of honor societies and Dean’s lists. They make time to study for advanced placement classes and projects that will prepare them for careers as educators, businesswomen, and medical specialists. This is why sparkling parties are so special! The Pink Ladies are all upbeat, fun loving young women who show princesses a great time and set a positive example for growing girls.

Get ready for some fun and excitement – it’s time for the third annual Holiday Expo hosted by Wilson Living Magazine!  We here at Sparking Tiara are gearing up and gathering our wares with great anticipation!  The Mill At Lebanon will certainly be a buzz this weekend with great holiday shopping revelry for the entire family!

Sparkling Tiara will be showcasing all our wonderful products!  We’ll have Christmas bows that sparkle and bow holders to keep them in place.  And that’s just the beginning!  There’ll be something for everyone.   It’s getting a wee bit cold out there, and a new hat or headband paired with a lively scarf might be just the remedy for you or someone on your holiday shopping list.  And don’t overlook our enchanting apparel for the younger set: an assortment of tiaras (of course) and tutus that will make your little dancer shine.  Our display will also include memory boards on which to gather all those treasured moments.

Twinkle twinkle little tot… Toys for Tots!

Sparkling Tiara is proud to announce our participation in the Marine Toys for Tots program.  While we love helping people have fun, as we approach the season of giving, we realize the importance of supporting causes that will make a difference in the lives of our children.  We cannot think of anything more important than each girl and boy getting a new toy for Christmas, and Toys for Tots is the organization that will make that happen.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a well-respected charity organization that has a long history of delivering toys to children in need.  The first campaign in 1947, local to Los Angeles, was so successful that what is now known as Toys for Tots was fully functioning across the states in 1948.  Today, Toys for Tots has operations in all states, as well as D.C. and Puerto Rico.

Visit the Toys for Tots website and learn not only about the history and philanthropy of this organization, but also about the dedication of all who help in this worthy cause.  When you read of the goals of Toys for Tots, we think this quote from the website says it best: “The goal is to deliver a message of hope, which will build self-esteem and, in turn, motivate needy children to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders. A shiny new toy is the best means of accomplishing this goal.”

Let’s all do what we can to help meet these goals!  We encourage everyone to partake in this worthy cause, to buy a new toy, and make some special child very happy.

Come and celebrate with Sparkling Tiara at the 2011 Halloween in the Park!

Enjoy Halloween with the kids and friends! Dress in costume and enjoy a fun-filled day of activities. Trick or treat, play games and work on craft projects are just the way to celebrate Halloween this year.

Sparkling Tiara is proud to participate in the 2011 Halloween in the Park event hosted by the Mt. Juliet Parks & Recreation Department.

The event is 11am to 3pm on Saturday, October 8, 2011 and is located at Charlie Daniels Park. While you are there be sure to stop by the Sparkling Tiara booth to meet our wonderful staff and have fun!
